Let’s learn more about her background, her inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Aartii:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
I was born and raised in Mumbai but have spent many of my formative years in the US, hence, I believe I am a good blend of East and the West. I moved back to India in 2001 when I started working in the corporate world.
After doing that for over a decade, I started my own practice which is also my passion. I am an established Tarot Card Reader and Healer. I am also a very spiritual person and that takes up a large part of my life.
How did you discover your passion?
As a child growing up, I was always very intuitive. My cousin and me would constantly go to astrologers and psychics to find out about our future. I was told by many of them that I am myself very intuitive and that I should get into this line of work as I would be very successful.
I learned tarot card reading back in 2006, but was working in the corporate world then. I would however do readings for my friends and family, as I found comfort in it and my predictions started coming true.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
As I mentioned earlier, I am a very spiritual person and that has helped me through all phases of my life. I practice affirmations daily, I chant and that gives me the wisdom and courage to do what’s best for me.
Consistently having my Buddhist practice in my life, I have always had the strength to go on even on difficult days.
I used the time that was slow to enhance my skill set and learn new modalities. Working as a freelancer has its own set of challenges but when you start viewing them as an opportunity for growth, your perspective changes.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
Having faith in myself and the courage to take the plunge from a consistent 9-5 job to an unpredictable and inconsistent schedule was one of the biggest lessons I learned in my life.
The second lesson, I have learned is that not all days are the same and it is easy to feel defeated and discouraged when things don’t go as planned, but it is very important to be grateful for the journey you have accomplished and not be so hard on yourself.
The third lesson that I have learned is that, we tend to victimise ourselves so much but in the line of work that I am in, you realize that people have worse problems than your own so instead of being unhappy and complaining, once again be grateful for what you have and where you are in life.
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
Keys to success:-
1) Persistence
2) Never be a defeated spirit
3) Hard work
4) Consistency
5) Constantly upgrading your skill set
6) Have a disciplined routine and be grateful.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Never give up on your dreams and never believe that you cannot. There is nothing we cannot achieve in life with hard work, persistence, and determination.
